At Greasby Junior School, we provide a calm, structured and purposeful start to every school day. Below you will find key information about timings, routines and supervision so that families know exactly what to expect.

Morning Arrival
Children should arrive between 8:30am and 8:50am and go straight to either the Lower or Upper School playgrounds. They may enter via:
- The Mill Lane path to the Lower School entrance
- The Cinder Path alongside the perimeter of the playing fields
A member of staff supervises each playground from 8:30am.
At 8:50am, teachers meet their classes on the playground and children move inside for a calm, purposeful start to the day, with a short ‘starter’ activity ready for them. Registration begins at 9:00am, so children should be in school for 8:50am to avoid missed learning.
Please note that although staff are in school from 7:00am, children remain the responsibility of parents until 8:30am, as no supervision is provided before this time.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Arrangements
Morning drop-off: Parents should say goodbye at the gate and not enter the playground.
Afternoon collection: Parents are welcome to enter the playground to collect their child safely at the end of the day.
These routines help maintain a calm, safe and smooth start and finish to each school day.
Break and Lunchtime
- Morning break: 10:35am – 10:50am
- Lunch: 12:00 pm – 1:15pm
Children may bring a healthy snack for morning break. Water is encouraged throughout the day, and pupils may refill bottles at our water coolers.
A Purposeful and Structured Week
Our timetable ensures every child receives a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum each week, including all National Curriculum subject and a range of enrichment opportunities. The total of school time per week is 33 hours and 45 minutes.
