What does it mean to be a Play Leader?
At Greasby Junior School, our Play Leaders help make playtimes happy, active and inclusive for all children. Each year, selected pupils are trained to support and guide the play of younger children, ensuring everyone has someone to play with and feels welcome on the playground.
Play Leaders help to organise games, model positive play, referee simple disputes, and encourage teamwork and fairness. They also promote healthy, active lifestyles by leading fun, engaging activities that get everyone moving.
Being a Play Leader is an important responsibility and a wonderful opportunity for pupils to develop leadership, confidence and communication skills. Our Play Leaders play a vital role in creating a caring, active and respectful school community.
