Our SENDCo
Dear Parents and Carers,
My name is Mrs Mullineux-Clay and I am currently a Year 3 teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) here at Greasby Junior School. As SENDCo my role within the school is managing and co-ordinating the provision for those pupils who have special educational needs, require extra support or have medical needs. I am also responsible for co-ordinating the provision of some of our more vulnerable children.
I am passionate about my role and believe that every child in our school should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. I work in partnership with all of the staff to ensure that the specific needs of individual children are identified and appropriate support is provided. I liaise regularly with external agencies and seek advice from other professionals such as: School Nurse, Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist (S.A.L.T.), Community Paediatrician and the Local Authority. Then, along with the class teacher, develop individual plans to outline the best way to meet your child’s needs.
My role also involves working with Miss Walker, our Pastoral and Well-being Manager, to support any pupils and their families who may require extra support and intervention. Every child has the right to be safe, happy and to be supported to achieve the very best they can, to have high aspirations and to ultimately lead successful lives – this is something all of the staff feel strongly about. Good communication is vital in achieving this and it is very important that we get to know parents and work closely alongside you. With this in mind, please do hesitate to get in touch if you have any worries or concerns, or if you just want to ask for advice.
To book an appointment with me, please contact the school office either by phone or email and I will call you back as soon as I can. If you wish to talk to Miss Walker, her email address can also be found below.
