Admissions at Greasby Junior School

At Greasby Junior School, we welcome children from Year 3 to Year 6. We do not have a preschool or Foundation 2 (F2) intake, as our admissions process begins when children transition from infant school.

Joining Us in Year 3

For children moving from Year 2 into Year 3, admissions are managed by Wirral Council through the coordinated primary admissions process. We work closely with local infant schools to ensure a smooth transition, offering a range of activities throughout the summer term, including:

• A transition morning at Greasby Junior School
• Weekly sporting activities
• A ‘Sorting Hat’ assembly
• A musical concert with current Year 3 pupils
• Sports Day participation

A meeting for parents of new Year 3 pupils is held in the summer term, where key staff members will introduce themselves and provide essential information.

In-Year Transfers

If your child is currently attending another primary school and you wish to transfer them to Greasby Junior School, applications must be made through Wirral Council. Before submitting an in-year transfer form, we encourage parents to contact the Headteacher, Mrs. Ball, to discuss the process.

Secondary School Admissions

At the end of Year 6, our pupils move on to a variety of secondary schools across Wirral. We encourage Year 5 parents and pupils to attend secondary school open evenings to explore their options.
